Hi,
Many thanks for your e-mails regarding the WORLD FEEDER CHAMPIONSHIPS in 2013. We are currently putting all plans in action and as it becomes available we will advice you.
We have requested to hold the WORLD FEEDER CHAMPIONSHIPS in November 2013 due to the fact that it is summertime and it is also the best time for fishing in South Africa as well as at Bloemhof Dam.
Bloemhof town is about 320 Km from Johannesburg Airport and the dam Bamboesspruit is about 40 Km from town.
We are also currently getting all of our suppliers onboard like ground feed worms etc. We will advice you once we have done it.
The type of fish is: Carp, Catfish, yellow fish, (Like European Chub), Mud Fish (Like European Barble)
Our feeders and feeder rods are not different from the ones you currently use in Europe .
We have booked all the accommodation available in Bloemhof for the Championship. Myself and Mike Rossouw will give you all of that info as soon as we start getting confirmation of teams, to see the quantity of people coming. We want to make sure everybody can find good accommodation.
We have been requested to help do a small budget for teams to help them with their planning.
1) We suggest Swiss Air from Europe to South Africa . They were the cheapest - our cost last year was = about 690 Euro. Our contact person at Swiss Air is Merle.Hagens@swiss.com
2) Accommodation -estimates
A) Per day = 16 euro
B) Launch = 8 euro
C) Dinner = 10 euro
34 euro per day per person

3) Our petrol and diesel cost are currently 1.055 euro per litre
4) There are currently no toll fees on the roads to Bloemhof dam
5) The rental of a vehicle from Johannesburg to Bloemhof can be done via Eurocar and Avis . A Van to transfer you goods can be about 110 Euros a day and a 4 seater car about 46 euros per day.

The only cost I cannot help you with is the transport cost of shipping fishing equipment from your country to us. (As the Rand /Euro cost is high it would probably not be that expensive for you.)
I have discussed equipment with Mike Rossouw who can help and supply Seat boxes, landing nets and holding nets to teams on a daily rental basis. The cost for that could be about 54 euro a day also depending on the exchange rate at the time. I have attached a picture of it for your reference.

We have also contacted our travel agency to see what can they offer. If there are any places in our country you would like to see please advise us, so that we can try and get the info for you.

We will start to provide you with more info as soon as it its available, we hope this will help you to start planning your trip to South Africa.
